The game wateer polo was found by a man named William Wilson, born in London. At his his time the game was known as the game of football in the water. Even though we know that William was the founder, there is no clear evidence that he developed the game fully but know that it started in the late 1800's in England. The reason Williams got this idea of water polo is because in the late 1800's the interest in swimming was declining so the new idea became really interesting. Soon after a committee of poeple got together and started to write up some rules for a football game in the water (water polo). It took many years for the game to form and become known to people. As the years went on minor improvements to the game were made. One of the improvement happened in Scotland, goals posts were used as an area which the ball could be thrown. The use of goal posts signified a fundamental change in the game. This resulted in a change of play, it was no longer was a case of brute strength but instead one of speed, technique, and tactic. As the game got alot of improvements the comittee appointed four members, A Sinclair (founder or the London Water Polo League),W. Henry, T. Young, and H. G. Hackett to revise the rules so the rules could be finalized. Soon after the rles were revised they were unanimously approved which casued them to become the base of todays game. Everyone who plays water polo adopted these universally rules.
