Formations
There are many different formations in soccer. Teams usually pick one or two formations that they will use the whole season.
Different formations
- 4-3-3
- -This is one of the most common formations used in the game. It means four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards and one goal keeper.
- 3-5-2
- -This formation is the second most common. It means three center defenders, two wingers and three midfielders, and two forwards. There is also one goal keeper.
- 4-3-2-1
- -This formation is rarely used with teams but teams do use it. They usually use this formation when they want to hold on to a close lead. It means four defenders, three defensive midfielders, two attacking midfielders and one forward. There is also one goal keeper.
