Acoustic Guitar
The guitar was originated in Spain during the 16th century with a narrower body and only had four strings to pluck from. Eventually, throughout the years the guitar slowly improved with two more strings being added and finally each string being named what it is today, E-A-D-G-B-e. During the 19th century in the Medieval Period, Antonio Torres changed the body size of the guitar and created a more reasonable proportioned instrument. Because of these nice improvements, the guitar has remained the same and has become better due to its volume, tone, and the overall projection of the instrument. He essentially created the classical guitar which was a six-string instrument made of metal-spun silk strings.
Electric Guitar
The electric guitar was first introduced in 1924 by an engineer at the Gibson Guitar Company, Lloyd Loar. His new innovation let the strings' vibration pass through to the bridge and eventually give the electric signal to the amplifier where the sound would ring out. It was difficult for engineers to create a guitar where the sound was loud enough, but when the electromagnet was used to make the vibration from the strings itself, the sound from the guitar was clear enough and with this electric guitar was produced. In 1932 this first electric guitar was advertised to the public and became successful as many artists such as Charlie Christian began to make music with it.Les Paul who had created many other acoustic guitars that were popular made an electric guitar in the 1950s and named it "Leo Fender". Today, Fender is a very famous and popular brand name among many guitar businesses.
