Brief History

AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Their music has been described as hard rock, blues rock, and heavy metal. However, the band themselves describe their music as simply "rock and roll". They named their band AC/DC after their sister, Margaret Young, saw the initials "AC/DC" on a sewing machine. "AC/DC" is an abbreviation meaning "alternating current/direct current" electricity. The brothers felt that this name symbolised the band's lively and raw energy on stage and during their performances. They went on to perform and sold 200 million records worldwide, making them one of the most popular rock bands of all time. They have perfomed music for more than 4 decades, with all of their band members passed their sixties.Their lead singer Brian Johnson, has confirmed this year, that the band is making a new album with the release date undetermined.
