Volleyball is the most competitive girls' sport and it is played all over the world. How exactly did volleyball end up becoming one of the most popular sports in the world? Volleyball was created by one man named William G. Morgan in 1895. He was a physical instructor at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Massachussets. He created the sport of volleyball(which was called mintonette at that time) to fulfill the demands of the businessmen in his classes that wanted to play a sport which had less physical contact than basketball.
